WrestleMania 42 Saturday pick’em report

Hello everybody! This is @TheMagnumDA with yet another edition of the Pick’em report. But this isn’t just some ordinary Pick’em tonight. For the first time ever, the WOPC Championship has been vacated and will be decided in a Triple Threat at WrestleMania XLII!

Brother Bull won the title at the Royal Rumble, but did not participate in the Elimination Chamber (Colin won). So to settle all the controversy, the title will be decided in a two-night aggregate Mania Pick’em. Who will be the Champion at the end of WrestleMania Sunday? It’s time to find out right now.

ON WITH THE PICKS FOR MANIA SATURDAY!

Six-Man Tag Team Match
The Vision (Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed (with Paul Heyman) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) and LA Knight

Colin: This match is on ESPN simply because of the extra eyeballs Logan Paul and IShowSpeed will bring. Love them or hate them, they are some of the most followed people in the world. I’m looking forward to see what Speed does in this match actually. It would be criminal if Speed gets the pinfall victory here, but I’m expecting The Vision to win this one.

Bull: I hate that this could all be decided on a meaningless six-man tag, but I look for the babyfaces to win it here tonight. I’ll take The Usos and LA Knight to get the victory.

Magnum: I look at it the other way. This could definitely tip the Pick’em in my favor, because this match has Islanders/Bulldogs vibes from Mania IV. What do I mean by that? I think a non-wrestler could get the pin! Either way, I’m rolling with The Vision and IShowSpeed to get the upset.

Unsanctioned Match
Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre

Colin: Fatu needs a good, proper, monster win. It’s not nice that it has to come at the expense of Drew McIntyre, but McIntyre is busy doing other things at the moment, so a brutal beating would help keep him away from TV for a while. Fatu needs to be in the main event picture. Jacob wins.

Bull: I’m going with Jacob Fatu in this match – there’s rumors of Drew going away to shoot the Highlander movie, so I think we can write him off in this one.

Magnum: That is correct about Highlander – Jacob and Drew are probably going to do something incredibly memorable in this match. Something that makes Fatu look like the world beater that we always knew that he could be. Fatu gets the biggest win of his career tonight.

Women’s World Championship (Raw)
Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan

Colin: Liv is still without a win on a WrestleMania card. Incredible, isn’t it? She’s great and she definitely deserves the title. I’m on team Vaquer, she’s a tremendous wrestler, but I think her time is up tonight. Liv finally wins.

Bull: What’s better than having a bad music video? How about being a champion with a bad music video? I’m taking Liv Morgan in this one.

Magnum: I also heard that the new song is actually going to be Liv’s theme music moving forward – hey, if it’s good enough for HBK, it’s good enough for me, I like Vaquer and I think she’ll be back on top soon, but tonight is Liv’s night. She’s not going to lose this after winning the Rumble to get here – Liv wins the championship.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch

Colin: I don’t know how long AJ is signed for but her return has done nothing for me. Yeah, the first night return pop was amazing and great, but let’s face it, in the ring, AJ is way behind others. I get why she won the title and I don’t disagree with the decision, but it’s time for Big Time Becks to get her baby back. New champ.

Bull: This should be a fantastic match – I’m going to take AJ Lee to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

Magnum: Here comes another title change – tonight is likely going to be AJ Lee’s swansong. AJ’s had a great comeback, and she’ll leave it all on the line tonight…but The Man is coming to collect, and this is the match that puts her back on top. Becky Lynch regains the IC gold.

Fatal 4 Way – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. The Bella Twins (Brie Bella and Nikki Bella)

Colin: Should be interesting to see how Nikki is played out of the match if she can’t wrestle. Taken out backstage, maybe? The thing I hate in this match is that Charlotte, Alexa, and Bayley are stuck in it. But I guess not everyone can get a singles match at a WrestleMania. I’m going for the champs, Jax and Legend, to retain the gold.

Bull: I look at this as, “Who has had the most TV time devoted to them?” After giving this some thought, I’m going to take Lyra and Bayley to win the tag titles.

Magnum: That makes all the sense in the world, but I think the mere fact that Bayley and Lyra made it back to the dance together is the real victory. I don’t know if that’s going to lead them to gold, though. I am extremely intrigued by the rumors that Brie and Nikki have come up with a Plan B in case Nikki cannot go tonight. If the rumors are true, it’s going to be a real Paige turner! Ultimately, though, I have to roll with the champions getting their signature win – this is all about new stars getting big wins, and I think Lash will get her first Mania victory. Nia and Lash retain.

Seth Rollins vs. Gunther

Colin: This match came out of nowhere to be honest. But it should be a fantastic match nonetheless. Totally expecting some former Vision member to return (woof woof) and cause Rollins the match. Gunther can’t just lose now after retiring both Cena and Styles. Gimme Gunther for the win.

Bull: I think there’s going to be (using industry jargon)…a “run-in” by Bron Brekker. I’m going to take my boy Gunther to win this matchup.

Magnum: This could steal the show. I think there could be a run-in by Brekker, as well. I could also see a scenario where Paul Heyman shows up and costs Seth the match. Maybe both? Either way, it’s looking real good for Gunther to pick up the win.

Undisputed WWE Championship – If RKO loses, Pat McAfee leaves WWE!
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton (with Pat McAfee)

Colin: I love Pat McAfee….only when he’s on commentary though. His addition to this match here is criminal. I’m on team Cody through and through but I believe a new champion will be crowned tonight. It should be a great match considering who’s in it, but the odds are stacked against the champ and The Viper will strike.

Bull: I do believe that Randy Orton will become a 15-time WWE Champion with this victory. I’m taking The Viper to win it all.

Magnum: Man, the pop if that happens. Here’s what is so strange about this storyline…people don’t care for Cody. They REALLY don’t care for Pat McAfee’s (sorry, Sly Stallone’s) involvement in this match. The only person getting cheers and singalongs anymore is RKO, so when he takes home his 15th WWE Championship tonight, I would expect a huge pop from this crowd, no matter what he does to win it. Orton wins, Jelly Roll shows up, Pat wears over-sized sunglasses…expect anarchy!!

Okay folks that’s going to do it for us here at the Pick’em report. We will see you tomorrow for more fun, more surprises, and WrestleMania Sunday! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
