Kushida leaving New Japan

Kushida, one of New Japan’s top junior heavyweights, will have his last match with the promotion at the end of this month and it will be a title shot against Hiroshi Tanahashi.

It is unclear what lies in Kushida’s future with Dave Meltzer reporting that WWE are interested. Kushida also mentioned in his farewell press-conference that his body is tired from all the traveling between NJPW and ROH, so staying with just Ring of Honor is an option.

Another one is becoming a Japanese journeyman, able to occasionally wrestle in all the promotions he wants, without being exclusive to any.

Kushida mentioned that he has little time left in wrestling, being 36, and wants to complete all his dream matches before he retires.
