Shane McMahon returning to Monday Night Raw tonight
WWE announced that former Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon will be appearing on Monday Night Raw tonight. “Shane-O-Mac is back! Shane McMahon RETURNS to #WWERaw TONIGHT. What will he have in store?” a tweet from the WWE account read. McMahon has been off WWE television since October of last year after he lost a ladder match against Kevin Owens. That particular match was one of the featured matches on the October 4 debut episode of Smackdown on FOX. Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson and RedBird Capital Partners Acquire the XFL LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK , Aug. 03, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson and RedBird Capital Partners have been selected as the winning bidder for substantially all of the assets of Alpha Entertainment LLC, the parent company of the XFL. The XFL assets will be sold to Garcia, Johnson and RedBird for approximately $15 million, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the asset purchase agreement. The transaction is subject to bankruptcy court approval at a hearing this Friday, August 7 and, assuming that closing conditions are satisfied, is expected to close on or shortly after August 21. The sale auction previously scheduled for today will not occur. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and investors buy the XFL for $15 million
A group of investors, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has agreed to purchase the XFL for approximately $15 million, according to a news release issued earlier this morning. “The acquisition of the XFL with my talented partners, Dany Garcia and Gerry Cardinale, is an investment for me that’s rooted deeply in two things – my passion for the game and my desire to always take care of the fans,” said Johnson, who played football at the University of Miami from 1990-94. “With pride and gratitude for all that I’ve built with my own two hands, I plan to apply these callouses to the XFL, and look forward to creating something special for the players, fans, and everyone involved for the love of football.” “For Dwayne, Gerry and myself, this property represents an incredible opportunity. United States title match to kick off Monday Night Raw
United States champion Apollo Crews will be returning to Monday Night Raw tonight after several weeks of absence, rumored to be related to COVID-19. Crews will battle MVP, the self-proclaimed United States champion who is in possession of the new re-designed title, to kick off Raw, with the winner finally getting the title. The United States title was on the line at Extreme Rules but Crews was said to be unable to compete so MVP declared himself the winner via forfeit. MVP looks like he’s building his own version of the Nation of Domination, with Bobby Lashley and the new 24/7 champion Shelton Benjamin already part of the stable.Read more...

The Mae Young Classic tournament returns for the second year in a row with tapings set to take place at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida on August 8 and 9. The tournament will air on the WWE Network later in the month.
