Judge to decide if Snuka’s case goes straight to trial next week

“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka will be back in court on October 7 as a judge Maria Dantos set a hearing to decide if the case will go straight to trial.

Snuka was originally set to have a preliminary hearing on September 21 however the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion to request a bill of information is approved by the court.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Charles Gallagher argued that “a preliminary hearing in this case would squander judicial resources,” and another lengthy, complex testimony from an investigating grand jury “could be considered not only a waste of scarce grand jury and judicial time, but also a repetitious, costly, and superfluous layer of delay before trial.”

The former WWE Superstar, who is suffering from cancer, is being charged with a third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for the death of his mistress Nancy Argentino back in 1983. The case went cold however thanks to the investigative work of The Morning Call newspaper the DA office agreed to re-open the case and even find enough evidence to charge Snuka.
