Speaking to Sporting News before his fight, Jake Hager said that he hopes that by the time the second fight comes around, he will be using his old wrestling name of Jack Swagger rather than his real name.

Hager explained that WWE doesn’t have a trademark on it and he’s in the process of owning the name through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He did say that there’s another Jack Swagger name registered for musical performances but feels confident that since he’s not in the music business, he will get it.

Hager also said that he still has a good relationship with WWE which is why they allowed R-Truth to perform his entrance last night. “I thought that was a very good sign from them. It’s a little bit of writing on the wall from them,” he added. Swagger spent 11 years with WWE, from developmental in 2006 through his exit in 2017. He won the ECW title, United States title, and the World Heavyweight title during his time there as well as being Mr. Money In The Bank in 2010.
