Former wrestler Billy Jack Haynes arrested for fatal shooting of his wife

Former wrestler Billy Jack Haynes, who wrestled for the WWF in the mid 80s, fatally shot his wife and had a standoff with police while locked in his home according to several news outlets in Portland.

Haynes, now 70 years old, killed his second wife Janette, 85, and police took a few hours to get him to surrender. He was transported to a hospital where he is being treated for a medical condition and will be sent straight to jail after released.

Police initially did not say it was Haynes on Thursday when the incident happened but has now confirmed his identity.

Haynes wrestled for WWF between 1986 and 1988 with his most prominent match coming at WrestleMania III against Hercules Hernandez. He also had a stint with WCW but was a staple in the Oregon wrestling for a long time.
