Former TNA announcer Don West reveals brain cancer diagnosis

Former Impact Wrestling announcer Don West announced that he has been diagnosed with brain cancer and will begin immediate treatment.

West, who now has a show on NewsRadio 560 KPQ, explained why his radio career is on hiatus right now and said he can’t wait until it’s all over so he can be back with his listeners again.

“I want to thank my wife Terri for her love and support, my family and everyone that works at Cherry Creek Media and KPQ. I also want to thank the Don West Show’s incredible sponsors and my friends for all the prayers that are coming my way. I am praying the chemotherapy will help me heal faster and hopefully I’ll be back on the radio soon,” West wrote.

Jeff Jarrett, who worked with West for several years, wrote on Twitter that he had just talked to him and he seems to be in great spirits and ready to take on the challenge.

West worked for Impact Wrestling for 10 years, doing many of the commentary for the promotion between 2002 and 2012 while still under the TNA name. He also did a lot of work for TNA’s merchandise department.
