F9: The Fast Saga with John Cena opens today in theaters nationwide

The movie F9: The Fast Saga, opens today in theaters nationwide as the mega franchise introduces its latest character played by former WWE champion John Cena.

Cena plays the role of Jakob, the younger brother of Dominic Toretto, who is enlisted by Cipher to take down the family. The popular movie features Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron in the leading roles.

Directed by Justin Lin, F9: The Fast Saga cost $200 million to produce and has already grossed $292.5 million in the handful of international countries that it has opened already, spearheaded by China which amounts to just over $200 million alone.

Cena is the second WWE Superstar to be featured in the Fast & Furious franchise, following the footsteps of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Johnson has appeared in every movie since the fifth installment but is not part of F9. He got his own spinoff franchise called Hobbs & Shaw.
