Dr. Chris Amann looking for a $4 million-plus payday in libel trial

Dr. Chris Amann’s attorney asked the jury for $1 per stream of the podcast during the closing arguments which went to over 90 minutes according to a report by WrestleZone.com whose reporters are in the Cook County courtroom.

While $1 might not seem a lot, when you take in consideration that the podcast was played nearly 4 million times, the amount came out to a whooping $3,989,000. Apart from that figure, Amann’s legal team is also asking for punitive damages.

Originally, Amann was looking for $1 million in damages when the lawsuit was filed. The two sides tried to get to an out-of-court settlement a few weeks ago before the trial was about to start but they could not agree on the deal and the trial proceeded, albeit a week late.

The attorney for CM Punk will be delivering his closing statements after lunch break and then it goes to the jury for deliberation.
