Cain Velasquez charged with attempted murder

Cain Velasquez has been charged with attempted murder by San Jose Police Department following an incident involving a shooting on Monday afternoon.

The former UFC Heavyweight champion and WWE star is still incarcerated at the Santa Clara County jail and will be appearing in court tomorrow. There is no bail set.

It’s unknown what led to the argument but Velasquez shot another male near the intersection of Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue. The victim was taken to a hospital where he is suffering from non life threatening injuries. San Jose PD is still trying to piece together why there was the argument and investigations are under way.

Velasquez, who was part of the WWE roster from October 2019 to April 2020, returned to AAA late last year to wrestle. He has not had a professional mixed martial arts fight since February 2019.
