Bret Hart says Vince “will be sorely missed” and is sad that he left

Speaking to Bill Apter at The Gathering Wrestling Convention, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart said that he was sad that Vince McMahon resigned from his post at WWE.

“I don’t think anybody’s ever made as big a footprint as Vince McMahon and, you know, I feel kinda sad about it actually,” Hart said, admitting that he was surprised when he heard that Vince left.

Vince and Bret share quite a complicated history and their tumultuous relationship back in 1997 ended with the Montreal Screwjob. Things got worse when his brother Owen died but eventually both sides patched things up and even shared the ring in a match at WrestleMania.

“I know people probably think I would be gloating or happy to see him go through what he’s going but I don’t,” Hart continued, acknowledging their past. “I feel bad that it happened or whatever has happened. I think his loss or his absence from the business will be sorely missed.”
