WWE Extreme Rules 2022 preview

The World Wrestling Entertainment organization is one of the most popular and prominent professional wrestling organizations in the world today. Some of the greatest, most famous / infamous, and most widely recognized wrestlers have walked through the halls of the WWE. Big names include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and the Undertaker, as well as a plethora of other wrestlers whose names are still remembered among hardcore fans.

Over the course of the WWE’s history, they have hosted a wide array of popular events. For example, Wrestlemania is the uncontested favorite and most popular event in the world of wrestling right now. However, it is not the only event. In this article, we are going to be focusing on the Extreme Rules event, produced annually by the World Wrestling Entertainment.

What is Extreme Rules?

Extreme Rules is a yearly event, produced by the WWE. It is a pay-per-view and livestreaming event, which fans can watch directly on the WWE network. The Extreme Rules spectacle began in 2009, and it was named for the fact that the matches were done under the hardcore wrestling rules and regulations.

The year that Extreme Rules got its start, was also the same year that Bitcoin was unveiled to the public. Some of you may be wondering, “what does Bitcoin have to do with WWE?” Well, hold on to your hats, because what some of you might not know is that many online betting sites are now taking bets on WWE matches, and accepting Bitcoin-based deposits.

Indeed, in the past couple of years, BTC sports betting has become ever more popular. As both the crypto market and online sports betting are becoming more and more mainstream, websites are becoming more open to accepting cryptocurrency.

But let’s get back to the meat and potatoes. The Extreme Rules 2022 event is just around the corner. In fact, it is scheduled to take place on October 8, 2022. So, let us look at what is going to make this year’s Extreme Rules so great?

Extreme Rules 2022

During 2022 SummerSlam, Liv Morgan met Ronda Rousey on the mat. They fought for the SmackDown Women’s Championship belt, and in a controversial match, Morgan retained her title. Due to certain referee calls, Ronda Rousey ended up turning heel, and attacking both Liv and the referee who had made the call. Following this event Ronda Rousey was suspended from the WWE.

Of course, the event was all kayfabe, and now that Rousey’s suspension has been lifted, she is coming back with a vengeance. After winning a fatal five-way elimination match, Ms. Rousey has earned the right to challenge Liv Morgan once again for a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship title.

And it is precisely at the Extreme Rules 2022 that this rematch will take place. The single match will be fought on October 8, a month after Ronda Rousey’s victory in the five-way elimination match. Though no other matches have been announced yet, audiences are still excited, and are preparing for the event even now.

Final Thoughts

In this last section, we would like to go over some final thoughts in regard to the Extreme Rules event coming in 2022. For one, let’s talk about some of the main predictions for matches that have not yet been announced.

Many fans are hoping to see Roman Reigns go against Karrion Kross and Drew McIntyre. Since Kross’ return, he has set his sights on Reigns and McIntyre, devoting a good portion of his return to smack talking and laying down the gauntlets.

Many fans are also hoping to see Rey Mysterio go up against Edge, as their feud has been going on for quite a while, with no conclusion in sight. Whatever the case may be, the 2022 Extreme Rules event is looking to be quite a success.
