Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting through his Select service that The Butcher and The Blade are no longer part of AEW after their contracts were due and were not offered an option to remain with the company.
The duo have been part of AEW since late 2019 but have rarely been used over the last two years, with The Blade out injured and requiring fusion back surgery and The Butcher not really setting the singles division on fire.
The Blade last wrestled in AEW in January 2024 while The Butcher last competed in February 2025. Since then, the tag team returned to action in March of this year for Limitless Wrestling.
Despite spending several years with the promotion, The Butcher and The Blade never won the AEW Tag Team titles.
