Teal Piper following in her father’s footsteps and stepping in the ring for AEW

Ariel Toombs, who now goes by the name of Teal Piper, will be one of the entrants in the 21-woman Casino Battle Royale at the All Elite Wrestling All Out pre-show where the winner will be the first #1 contender for the inaugural AEW Women’s title.

The 35-year-old did acting growing up but is now following in her father’s footsteps by stepping in the ring.

“Growing with wrestling in my family, it was actually a strange dynamic,” she said in the Road to All Out YouTube series. She recounted how she had a dad that people hated and tried to kill and how he kept his family protected because he thought fans would lash at them to get to him.

Her love for professional wrestling grew when she started to have more respect for the performers and said that it would be wasteful if she did not do what her dad thought her and what she ultimately wants to do: get in the ring.

“It’s also for me to reconnect with him and a way to get closer to him…I guess to keep him around,” Piper says.

The video then pans to WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts who is handing out playing cards like a Las Vegas dealer, most likely handing out the entrance number. “This feels like a good one, trust me,” Roberts says.

When Piper sees the card, it’s obvious she doesn’t like it. “Where I come from, we’re thought to change the questions. Time to pay the piper!”
