The AEW Women’s title match at Full Gear was made official last night on Dynamite, with champion Kris Statlander accepting Mercedes Mone’s challenge from last week.
Statlander had the last laugh on Mone yesterday as her 12-title celebration ended with Mone’s face eating cake and going through a table courtesy of Statlander and Harley Cameron.
This will be Mone’s chance to go for #13 and even has a chance for a #14 if she and Athena are successful in winning the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles.
It’s Mone’s second shot at the AEW Women’s title after her first attempt at All In: Texas versus Toni Storm was unsuccessful. It remains Mone’s only loss in AEW since she has arrived.
Statlander vs Mone is the first match on the Full Gear pay-per-view so far.
