Ospreay’s main event match on Dynamite draws lowest viewership of the whole show

It was a rough night for AEW on Wednesday night especially for newcomer Will Ospreay who was thrown into the main event slot of the new season of Dynamite.

Ospreay’s main event match against Kyle Fletcher did the lowest viewership for the two-hour broadcast, with 654,000 viewers tuning in. The eighth quarter hour dropped 93,000 viewers from the prior quarter and the seven-minute overrun only improved things slightly by doing 676,000 viewers.

While no one is denying Ospreay’s wrestling ability, throwing him into the main event in his second Dynamite appearance as a full time AEW star didn’t do the British star any justice.

This week’s Dynamite was the least-watched since October of last year and was a pretty-loaded show with the likes of The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, Kazuchika Okada, Adam Copeland, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and other heavy hitters appearing.
