Melanie Pillman, the mother of Brian Pillman Jr, passes away at age 57

Melanie Pillman, the widow of Brian Pillman and the mother of AEW’s Brian Pillman Jr, passed away at the age of 57.

“Thank you mom for bringing me into this world and for trying your best. You were my number 1 fan,” Brian tweeted. “Rest In Peace. I love you.”

Melanie, who was part of the gun angle with Brian and Steve Austin in 1996 and was then interviewed on Raw after her husband passed away, was part of the two-part episode of Dark Side of the Ring featuring the story of her husband. In the episode, Brian Jr said that he could spend the rest of his life hating his mother for all the bad things she did but that would get him nowhere.

He then revealed that ever since he rekindled his relationship with her, he’s been happier in his personal life and has been more understanding of people with the same issues his mother had.

“I’m very happy that I have a parent left on this earth,” he said towards the ending of the episode.
