Matt Hardy says Jeff’s contract with AEW will expire in June

On his weekly podcast, Matt Hardy revealed that his brother’s Jeff contract with AEW is about to expire soon, and thinks it’s valid until “mid-June or so.”

Matt said that Jeff has been cleared for a while now but he’s just sitting at home waiting for the phone call to go to work.

“So, I guess we’ll see if he ends up re-signing or not re-signing,” Matt said. “Who knows?”

Jeff’s run in AEW hasn’t been particularly special, first spending time in rehab and then getting injured in the ring a few months ago, breaking his nose and getting knocked out after being on the receiving end of a Sammy Guevara move.

Hardy hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since that match on February 16.

Acknowledging that his brother is very happy to spend time at home, Matt added that he knows that it’s important for him to finish up on a high note.

“I know that it’s something that he wants to do. So it’s going to be interesting to see what happens,” Matt continued.
