Malakai Black denies getting released, says he’ll return to AEW “soon”

In an Instagram Live video yesterday, Malakai Black denied being released from AEW and said that all the news about him getting a conditional release are not true.

“None of it has been confirmed because I haven’t left,” Black said during the live broadcast. He confirmed that AEW President Tony Khan gave him time off to take care of his health and he expects to return.

Black reassured fans that he’s doing good and he’s fine and “everything will be fine” and we will see him back in AEW in “a couple of weeks or maybe couple of months.”

He added, “I’m just going to take some time, that’s it.”

Black denied Khan’s statement that he has a five year deal with AEW but did not elaborate on that. He also mentioned that he received two death threats from fans regarding him asking for his release.
