Kenny Omega returns to AEW

Kenny Omega returned to AEW last night on Dynamite and was The Young Bucks’ mystery partner in their trios tournament match against Andrade El Idolo, Rush, and Dragon Lee.

Omega has been out of action for the past eight months and has not wrestled since losing the AEW World title to Hangman Adam Page in November 2021. Since then, he underwent several surgeries to correct many injuries he accumulated over the years.

Omega, who returned with Don Callis and Michael Nakazawa to a thunderous ovation, helped The Bucks advance to the second round of the tournament, securing the win after pinning Dragon Le with his One Winged Angel.

With Omega back, AEW now has their top three stars back from injury.

Following the conclusion of Dynamite, Omega addressed the crowd, saying that the past eight months have been grueling and questioned himself if he can return at his best.

He said it might be a while before he can challenge for a singles title but it’s a work in progress and he’s glad everyone is joining him for this journey.

Omega spoke for almost seven minutes and said that he’s not a good guy and will cheat to win sometimes and he might hold some resentment towards fans.

“But as long as this doesn’t get aired,” Omega said as fans laughed, “I appreciate you very much.”
