Brian Cage makes his AEW debut at Double or Nothing

Former Impact Wrestling champion Brian Cage made his All Elite Wrestling debut last night at Double or Nothing, entering the casino ladder match and winning it as well.

Cage’s signing with AEW was announced in January, a day after he was supposed to wrestle Rob Van Dam at Impact’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view. He did not work the show due to an injury he suffered.

Cage’s wife, Mellissa Santos, refuted the online reports that her husband signed a deal with AEW at the time and wrote on social media, “Really?? How can you confirm something that isn’t true???? I’m his wife and I can CONFIRM, he hasn’t signed on any dotted line.”

The 35-year-old Cage worked for Impact between 2012 and 2014 and then returned in 2018 where he won the Impact World title.

Cage was supposed to take part at the Double or Nothing Casino Battle Royale in 2019 but his appearance was pulled out due to some creative differences between AEW and Impact Wrestling, who opted not to have their world champion competing in a battle royal on their competitor’s show.

With winning the casino ladder match, Cage has earned a future shot at the AEW World title. He came out to the ring with Taz who looks like will be managing Cage moving forward.
