AEW extends Danhausen’s contract to cover injury time “against his wishes”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting through his Select service that AEW has extended Danhausen’s contract into next year to cover the time he was out injured.

Danhausen spent eight months on the sidelines in 2023 after he suffered a torn pec muscle. He has not been seen on AEW television since the Worlds End pay-per-view in 2023 and then had a cameo during the ROH Final Battle show in December of last year.

Sapp adds that Danhausen would have preferred if his contract expired when it was supposed to and his extension was done “against his wishes.”

It’s unclear when his deal will now run out but will remain on the AEW books for the next several months at least.
