Former AEW star The Butcher passes away at age 48

TMZ.COM is reporting that Andy Williams, who performed as The Butcher in AEW, passed away after collapsing at an indie wrestling event promoted by Enjoy Wrestling.

The event was held at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania and it was canceled immediately after the medical incident occurred.

According to eye witness reports, Williams collapsed and was helped by his tag team partner The Blade and others before medics made their way out and performed CPR and used a defibrillator. He was taken to the Allegheny General Hospital where unfortunately his life could not be saved.

Williams, 48, was a former guitarist for the metal band Every Time I Die and transitioned to wrestling in 2010. He signed with AEW in 2019 along with his partner The Blade where he stayed there until just recently.
