Jim Ross heading back to hospital for brain surgery

On his first Grilling JR podcast since being released from hospital after a month, Jim Ross revealed that he will be heading back into hospital next week for brain surgery.

The AEW announcer said that he passed out in his house over a month ago and that kick-started his long hospital stay, with doctors suggesting a procedure to eventually help him with his memory.

“I think it’s called a shunt, it will go from my brain. I don’t know where all it’s going to go, but it’s going someplace to get that fluid off my brain that’s making me not remember stuff,” Ross said.

“It’s fairly serious. I always thought that anytime they open your skull up and that you it’s a serious piece of business,” he continued. “And this certainly feels that way. So, I’ll get it done, a short hospital stay, then back home to heal up. That’s what I’m going to do, I’m going to heal up.”

JR said that he cannot drive yet and he’s cutting back on doing appearances until he’s healthy enough to get back on the road.

Ross joked that it will be an adventure for the doctors because he thinks they’re not going to find much in his brain!
