Royal Rumble 2027: what do the international betting odds tell us about this summer’s booking?

The 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble may be half a year away, but some sites are already listing who they think are the favorites to win.

While there’s no betting on pro wrestling in the United States, leading sites still offer prediction pools, DFS games and Pick’Ems on all the major PLEs. The easiest ways to keep up with these and ensure you don’t miss out, and read all the latest WWE coverage, is via the Action Network app.

Knowing which wrestlers are in the running for next year’s Royal Rumble win, and the subsequent title shot at WrestleMania 43, can make a big difference when playing these fantasy games now. WWE will carefully manage the trajectories of wrestlers who they want to be strong in January, making them likely to perform well over the summer.

These are the WWE superstars tipped for the 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble to keep an eye on when playing WWE fantasy games throughout the rest of the year.

Oba Femi

It’s a question of when, not if, WWE straps a rocket ship to Oba Femi. He’s likely to be the King of the Ring winner when the crown is decided at Night of Champions, and still has unfinished business with Brock Lesnar.

Oba Femi defeated The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 42, with Lesnar seemingly retiring. He returned, though, and took the win in the rematch at the Clash in Italy. The rubber match will surely take place at SummerSlam, which this year comes from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This is the same city where Lesnar forged his reputation as an elite collegiate wrestler over 20 years ago, and surely where he’ll look to retire for good. Lesnar doing the business for Oba Femi would be another big sign that WWE will be pushing him towards a Royal Rumble win and WrestleMania championship match.

Sami Zayn

There are some wrestlers who, inexplicably, have never held a world title. The likes of ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, Mr Perfect and Scott Hall are all examples of those who came close, but never quite got the top belt. Both on-screen and off, Sami Zayn is now in that battle.

Zayn is looking set to spend the summer trying to win his first ever world title. While there’s every chance that WWE pulls the trigger and gives Zayn a run on top, it’s equally likely that they’ll hold off until the Royal Rumble. If Zayn doesn’t get his shot with the belt anytime soon, expect him to heat up at the end of the year in preparation of a Rumble win.

Bron Breakker

The 2026 Royal Rumble was a washout for Bron Breakker. First his build up program with Seth Rollins was disrupted by an injury to The Visionary, and then a hernia robbed him of a likely Rumble win and Mania main event.

There’s no doubt that Breakker is a future face of WWE, but his short term is a little more unpredictable. Expect him to pick up plenty of wins over the summer as WWE rebuilds him, but don’t quite lock him into a Rumble pool just yet.

Gunther

If there is one WWE star who needs a Royal Rumble win, it’s Gunther. Despite retiring both John Cena and AJ Styles over the last 12 months, Gunther seems a little lost in WWE. He works best as the unshakable bad-guy champion, and hasn’t benefited from the 50/50 booking against Cody Rhodes as he chases the Undisputed WWE Championship.

There’s every chance that WWE will still put the title on Gunter over the summer. If not, expect a strong end of 2026 from The Ring General as he’s reinforced as a major Rumble threat.
