During the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T called for WWE to have better security at hotels during large events such as WrestleMania.
Fans at MGM Grand were super disrespectful and entitled, mobbing and following WWE Superstars and their family members everywhere throughout the casino floor and spending hours outside elevators waiting to take photos and videos.
Booker said it was really hard for him this year navigating through the massive property and felt bad for the WWE Superstars who had to perform.
“Because I got mobbed, and I’m not even doing this anymore. So hopefully we can get that fixed,” Booker T said. He added that there were fans even following him to the public bathroom and filming him.
“They were camped out. Everywhere, they were camped out. You couldn’t walk anywhere. And they were following you,” he continued. “In the bathroom. I remember the guy literally was filming me in the bathroom. And when I walked out he goes, ‘Hey, Booker.’ And I just kept walking because I was so mad because he was filming me in the bathroom.”
Fellow Hall of Famer X-Pac also said that he was assaulted by a fan inside the hotel.
“I got physically assaulted & camera shoved in my face, stalked in the bathroom, & more,” X-Pac wrote on X.
X-Pac was reacting to a video posted by TMZ of CM Punk slapping the phone away from a fan who was filming his wife and Bayley sharing a personal moment and he got a little too close.
“That guy & all the rest like him can get f*cked,” X-Pac added. “It was insane how these people were.”
There were more incidents like this throughout the week and it was only when it was almost time to leave that WWE and hotel security added bodies by elevators to check if they were guests or not. Fans who were just there to stalk wrestlers were pushed away and only those who had keys to their rooms were allowed to go in.
