John Cena on seeing Zack Ryder back on WWE TV: “I was really happy”

Talking on the Raw Podcast following this week’s episode from Madison Square Garden, John Cena said that he was very glad that he got to see Zack Ryder back for one night.

“Matt is a personal friend of mine. I can speak candidly like that and I’ve seen his mind grow,” Cena said, mentioning that Cardona’s quest for growth and the change from the Zack Ryder he knew back then was incredible.

“The Zack Ryder I knew from a long time ago has accrued so much sports entertainment wisdom and it’s amazing when we have interactions,” Cena continued. “He’ll tell me about his journey and be like, ‘This is what you were trying to talk about before and I wasn’t I wasn’t ready to understand it,’ and I like rooting for people who are humble enough to admit when they’re wrong and always want to grow and are doing things for the greater good of the business.”

Cena also mentioned Chelsea Green, Cardona’s wife, who he said she’s also one of those people just like her husband.

“I was just, really, I was really happy to see Zack Ryder back,” Cena concluded.

Ryder lost to LA Knight in The Last Time Is Now tournament and another close friend of Cena, Dolph Ziggler, was brought in for Raw at MSG and lost to Solo Sikoa in the same tournament.
