Legendary singer and WWE Hall of Famer Ozzy Osbourne passes away

Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath singer and WWE Hall of Famer, passed away at age 76, just weeks after a farewell show in Birmingham, England on July 5.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” a statement from his family said. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

The legendary heavy metal singer was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021 and has appeared on WWE television multiple times over the years. His song, War Pigs, is used as the theme for WarGames.

Ozzy has one WrestleMania appearance way back in 1986 at WrestleMania 2, joining Captain Lou Albano and The British Bulldogs.

On the July 7 episode of Raw, two days after his farewell concert, WWE paid tribute to the Brit.

“I want to send a very special congratulations to WWE Hall of Famer, the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, on his farewell performance this past weekend in Birmingham,” said Corey Graves during he show. “The greatest to ever do it.”
