Rey Mysterio kicks off the WWE/AAA Worlds Collide event

Rey Mysterio made his first appearance since the night before WrestleMania today at the WWE/AAA Worlds Collide event in Inglewood, California.

Mysterio, who was injured on the Smackdown on the eve of WrestleMania and missed the show, opened Worlds Collide with an in-ring interview and noted that he was part of the original Worlds Collide event in 1994.

He said that he thought lucha libre would only be seen in Mexico but he’s proud to see the evolution of lucha libre and now the entire world can watch what he loved as kid.

Mysterio stayed in the ring for the introduction of the first match, involving Mr. Iguana, Aerostar, Octagon Jr., Lince Dorado, Dragon Lee, and Cruz Del Toro, all of whom shook hands with Mysterio.

Rey’s son Dom Mysterio and Liv Morgan were also in attendance and shown sitting at ringside for the first match.
