Reports: Mariah May expected to leave AEW and join WWE

Rumors are flying high that former AEW Women’s champion Mariah May is expected to depart AEW and join WWE once her contract is up in a few months.

The British star joined AEW from Stardom in November 2023 and has been a big fixture on TV ever since, including a run with the AEW Women’s title and an unforgettable feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm.

But May has not been featured on television since Revolution in March where she lost her final trilogy match against Storm.

On their latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez hinted that the impression within WWE is that she wants to come and that from AEW is that she’s leaving.

May recently posted a story on her Instagram writing, “You can’t make the wrong decision because every decision leads you to where you’re supposed to be,” further increasing the speculation that she is indeed leaving. Her latest story shows her training in a ring at the Flatbacks Wrestling School, owned by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears, with the Royal Rumble ring skirt very visible.
