WWE ID titles to be also defended against non-contracted indie talent

WWE announced that after the inaugural men and women WWE ID champions are crowned, titles will be defended against other independent talent who are not under a WWE ID deal.

“The titles will be defended at various independent wrestling events. If a non-WWE ID prospect wins the title, they will be awarded a WWE ID contract,” a post on the WWE ID X account read.

The tournaments, which will start in Las Vegas during WrestleMania week at events promoted by GCW and Future Stars of Wrestling, will only feature WWE ID talent.

The men’s tournament will be a double-elimination format in the first round and then moves to single-elimination later. The women’s tournament, which has less participants involved, will be a round-robin one.
