Tournament launched to determine #1 contender for AEW International title

A tournament has been announced where the winner will face Kenny Omega for the AEW International title at the Dynasty pay-per-view next month.

The eight-person single-elimination tournament kicked off yesterday, with Orange Cassidy defeating Hechicero and newcomer “Speedball” Mike Bailey defeating The Beast Mortos.

Other matches will feature Katsuyori Shibata vs Ricochet and Mark Briscoe vs Mark Davis, both of which will take place on Saturday on Collision.

A four-way match with all the winners from the opening round will then take place on next week’s episode of Dynamite to determine the number one contender to face Omega.

Omega won the AEW International title this past Sunday at Revolution, beating Konosuke Takeshita.
