PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE is sending out invites to the media for a special event to be held on Wednesday, January 8, at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While the invite has nothing specific as to what the special event relates to, it does list that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon will be there for the event.

Interesting to note is that January 8 falls within CES 2014 – the annual Consumer Electronics Show – which is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and World Trade Center. CES next year will be held between January 7 and January 10.

The rumors are that WWE will finally announce the launch of the WWE Network and with all major media covering CES during those four days it would make sense to announce it then to benefit from the added media presence.
