Tammy Sytch’s public defender files appeal over length of prison sentence

The public defender representing Tammy “Sunny” Sytch in her manslaughter case has filed an appeal with the District Court of Appeal, Fifth District of Florida, challenging the length of her prison sentence.

Sytch was sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison minus time served for her involvement in the death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter while she was driving under the influence. Sytch had eight counts against her including DUI manslaughter, driving while license suspended with death, multiple DUI with damage to person, and DUI with damage to property.

The WWE Hall of Fame pled no contest and Circuit Judge Karen A. Foxman sent her to prison after a two-hour hearing. She was sentenced to 10.5 years for driving with a suspended license and causing death or bodily injury, seven years to DUI manslaughter, and one year on other misdemeanor charges. She gets credit for 566 days that she already spent in prison.
