During yesterday’s Pat McAfee Show, WWE commentator Pat McAfee revealed that he was originally supposed to return as part of the Rumble match but wasn’t fit enough to compete.
McAfee cited a rough schedule over the past several months and he didn’t feel like he could get enough proper training in place to be worthy of an entry in the Rumble.
Pat said that being out of shape, he didn’t want to disrespect anyone or the match and didn’t want to steal a spot from someone else.
“When you’re in there, there’s a lot of danger, there’s a lot of shit that can happen,” McAfee said. “I told them, ‘Hey…I’m not going to be able to be in good enough shape for the Rumble, don’t want to disrespect the Rumble or anything like that.”
McAfee also revealed that the private jet had issues and left late and he only arrived at the Alamodome 30 minutes before he appeared on camera.
Michael Cole, who also joined McAfee on the show yesterday, went through what happened and how he was left in the dark and said he didn’t know if they were ever going to see him back in WWE due to the many changes in his life.
