NXT Takeover name returning starting with Halloween Havoc

Multiple industry insiders are reporting that WWE is bringing back the Takeover name for future NXT premium live events starting with the upcoming Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 22.

NXT used Takeover from the first event in 2014 on the WWE Network until last year, with the last event marketed under the Takeover name being Takeover 36 in August.

NXT Takeover 36 featured a main event of Karrion Kross vs Samoa Joe for the NXT title in what ended up being Joe’s last match for WWE as well.

When NXT 2.0 came to life in September of last year, the Takeover name was dropped completely and any premium live events were simply marketed under their name.
