NXT UK leaves its mark at NXT Heatwave

NXT UK made its presence felt last night at NXT Heatwave as a few stars from across the pond left their mark on the show.

Gallus, the faction consisting of Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang, appeared first on the show, attacking The Diamond Mine.

Later in the show, they were involved in a backstage segment with current NXT UK Tag Team champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.

Blair Davenport was also part of the broadcast and showed up in a backstage segment with Indi Hartwell. Hartwell, who was reading a message presumably from Dexter Lumis, had the card snatched from her by Davenport.

Then, in the show-closing angle, NXT UK champion Tyler Bate confronted the NXT champion Bron Breakker after Breakker successfully defeated former NXT UK star JD McDonagh in the main event.

Bate’s title win on NXT UK has not aired yet as the tournament to crown the NXT UK champion is still airing on the WWE Network. Former champion Ilja Dragunov had to surrender the title due to an injury and Bate became the first two-time NXT UK champion when the tournament was over.

There are rumors that WWE will have an NXT premium live event on September 4 and everything seems to be building towards an NXT vs NXT UK event.
