Investigation into McMahon’s hush money deals “substantially completed”

The WWE Board of Directors investigation on the Vince McMahon hush money ordeal has so far cost WWE $1.7 million in expenses according to the latest documents filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company anticipates that they will spend around $10 million for the rest of the year in relation to the investigation and cost might also exceed that depending on the outcome.

WWE said that the investigation is “substantially completed.” It is led by Man Jit Singh, the former President of Home Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and assisted by the remaining independent WWE Board of Directors members. Executive members Stephanie McMahon, Paul Levesque, and Nick Khan are not part of the investigation.

The filing with the SEC also said that during the six months ended June 30, 2022 and 2021, Vince McMahon made payments of $2,200,000 and $1,200,000 respectively, associated with the previously unrecorded expenses. McMahon will be paying the full $19.6 million that he owes personally to the company, with the majority of the sum already paid.
