Smackdown TV report for 08/05/2022

We start out with a replay of Pat McAfee beating Happy Corbin at SummerSlam. In the back, Happy Corbin looks distraught and Ricochet laughing, challenges Happy to a match.

Ricochet VS. Happy Corbin

After staring at McAfee, Corbin gets caught by Ricochet who hits the splash off the top for the win.

Winner: Ricochet

After the match, McAfee throws Ricochet a football, Ricochet throws it back to McAfee who signs the football and punts it into the crowd

In the back Sami Zayn is shown at the door of Roman Reigns. The Usos answer the door and Zayn asks how Paul Heyman is and the Usos tell him he is home resting. Zayn then says he would like to congratulate Roman Reigns for winning at SummerSlam Usos say it’s not a good time, he’ll text him later.

Shinsuke Nakamura VS. Ludwig Kaiser

If Shinsuke can win he will get an Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther.

In the back Sami Zayn is back at the door of Roman Reigns and the Usos say they were just going to text him to come back. They instruct him to go to the production truck and make sure everything is perfect.

Back in the ring, Kayla Braxton interviews Liv Morgan who says she has been feeling different emotions over what happened at SummerSlam, but the championship means everything to her. She thought she tapped out after the referee counted to three.

Sonya Deville comes out and tells Liv she isn’t buying her innocent act and will win tonight’s gauntlet match tonight and take the title from her.

Aliyah comes out for the first match and Liv joins the announce table.

Shayna catches Rodriguez in the Clutch and as Rodriguez fads, Shayna takes her to the mat for the pin

Winner: Shayna Basler and will be facing Liv Morgan for the Smackdown’s Women’s Championship

The Viking Raiders VS. Tommy Gibson & Jim Mulkey

Raiders dominate the local talent.

After the match the Raiders are attacked by Kofi Kingston with a kendo Stick

Kofi Kingston VS. Erik

Kofi counters a move by Erik and scores the pinfall

Winner: Kofi Kingston

It is announced that a tournament will start Monday on Raw to fill the vacant Women’s Tag Team championship.

The Bloodline is out next and Roman asks for acknowledgement and then says they hate Brock Lesnar, respect Brock Lesnar but they hate him because he tried to kill the Wiseman and they have no idea when they will get their counsel back.

Roman is then interrupted by Drew McIntyre who asks the crowd if they wanted him to tear apart the Bloodline right here tonight. Before Drew could move, music hit and out comes the returning Karrion Kross who attacks Drew and leaves him laying on the floor as the Bloodline looks on. Scarlett has returned as well and sits the hourglass in the ring as we go off the air.
