Asuka and Mustafa Ali planned for WWE TV return

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is reporting through his Select service that WWE is planning on bringing back Asuka and Mustafa Ali.

Asuka has been out of action since July 2021 and last wrestled at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. She has not been seen on television since then and was left out of the WWE Draft late last year so technically she is a “free agent.”

There are rumors that Asuka could be appearing as early as tonight’s Monday Night Raw to feud with Becky Lynch. Lynch is also returning tonight on TV. Lynch and Asuka were last together in a ring the night after Money In The Bank 2020 when Lynch told the world she is pregnant and presented the Raw Women’s title to Asuka.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Mustafa Ali was last seen at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia in October 2021. He wrestled, and lost to, Mansoor that night and was later decked by Olympic silver medalist Tareg Hamedi. In January of this year, Mustafa Ali publicly requested his release from WWE, a request which was denied. He has not showed up on television for six months and has multiple time talked about his unhappiness in the company via social media.
