Report: Bret Hart signs “lucrative” WWE deal

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart has “quietly signed a lucrative WWE deal.”

What the deal includes remains to be seen but Meltzer says that as part of the agreement, he cannot appear for AEW and that is why he will be accompanying FTR at an indie show rather than for a match on an AEW broadcast. Meltzer adds that his new deal allows Bret to do indie shows.

Signing a new WWE deal also means that Bret will play no part in the AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament although that was the likely scenario anyway as Bret and Martha Hart are not close and Martha often said in the past that she doesn’t speak to the Hart family.

Bret will be part of the Big Time Wrestling show on Friday, June 10, and will be in the corner of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler as they take on Brian Pillman Jr and Brock Anderson with Arn Anderson in their corner.
