Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling reported on his Select service that AEW President Tony Khan and MJF had a heated discussion over the interview MJF did with Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show last week.

The interview got a lot of talk because MJF said that he will not re-sign with AEW before his contract expires unless they give him an astronomical amount of money and will certainly go to the highest bidder when his deal is up in the beginning of 2024.

One of the major reasons for the “heat” is because MJF did not clear the interview with AEW and the discussion about his contract status did not sit well with Khan. The two had a conversation during the weekend, a talk which left both men frustrated with one another.

Despite the setback, the issue is now considered to be settled and everything should be business as usual.
