Owens says decision to re-sign with WWE was best for his family

Speaking to Pat Laprade on his podcast for TVA Sports in Canada, Kevin Owens said that his decision to sign with WWE for a few more years was pretty easy because it was the best thing for his family.

“When it comes to that, it’s always a pretty easy decision. WWE has been my home for seven years, so I have a sense of belonging,” Owens said.

Owens added that now he has spent most of his wrestling career there and that’s where he needs to be for the next few years eventually. “That’s how I felt and that’s the decision I made,” he continued.

The former Universal champion has reportedly signed a new three year deal worth between $2 million and $3 million per year according to Dave Meltzer of the Observer, making him one of the best paid in the company.

Owens teased leaving WWE earlier this year on Twitter, posting the co-ordinates to Mount Rushmore, the name of the faction he was a part of with Adam Cole and The Young Bucks in PWG in 2013 and writing “Almost there.”
