Bryan Danielson says lying about his medical history led to trust issues with WWE

In an interview with Delaware-based news website wdel.com, Bryan Danielson admitted that lying about his concussions led to some rocky roads with WWE and he got benched until that trust was restored.

Danielson said that back when he was forced to retire, he thought he was healthy and still thinks that he’s healthy but spilled the beans about him not being honest about his medical history.

“One of the reasons I was forced to retire was not because of the concussions, but because I lied about that. You have to understand, from WWE’s point of view, I had been wrestling for them for six years but then all of a sudden, they opened this Pandora’s box about ‘lying about his medical history and now we can’t trust him.’ A lot of that was building the trust back, but they were also legitimately looking after my health,” Danielson said.

He said that he went to visit different doctors to show WWE that his brain was healthy enough and he didn’t want to be done yet because he loves pro wrestling.
