CM Punk officially retires from MMA

The website MMAFighting.com is reporting that CM Punk officially retired from mixed martial arts and is no longer subject to random testing by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.

Punk, despite the fact that he did not fight since 2018, kept getting tested by the USADA and records show that he was tested six different times in 2020. This year, Punk informed the UFC about his desire to return to professional wrestling and opted out of the doping program, meaning now that he cannot just one fine day return to MMA without going through the whole procedure again.

UFC, in comments given to MMA Fighting, confirmed that Punk is officially retired.

The former champ’s journey in MMA was not a great one, losing both his UFC fights although his second loss was overturned to a no-contest after his opponent Mike Jackson later tested positive for marijuana.
