John Cena returns at Money In The Bank, addresses crowd

16-time world champion John Cena made his return to WWE last night at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view and set his sight on the Universal champion Roman Reigns.

Following a successful title defense against Edge, Reigns was ready to cut a promo in the middle of the ring, telling fans that now everyone can acknowledge him but the trumpets hit the speakers and everyone inside the Dickies Arena lost their marbles. A pumped-up Cena high-fived the camera man and hyped up the crowd as Michael Cole and Pat McAfee went bananas on commentary.

Cena entered the ring and had a face off with Reigns, doing the “You can’t see me” hand sign as the show went off the air.

While the pay-per-view feed was cut there, Cena did address the crowd afterward. “It’s so weird because I’m used to you guys telling me how much I suck. Man, this feels pretty good!” Cena said. Cena pointed to a sign which read “If Cena shows up we cheer” and said that this feels like bizarro world.

“Tonight, I just wanted to come out here, and let Roman Reigns know that I was back, and I certainly wanted to come out here and let all the people know that I’m back. Now, I promise you this is not one night only, but what’s special to me is that this is the first night,”

Cena thanked the WWE Superstars in the back for their sacrifices throughout the years and said he missed and loved everyone. “Thank you so much for being here.”

The Hollywood movie star will now be kicking off tonight’s Monday Night Raw live from Dallas, Texas, and he is expected to challenge Reigns for the Universal title at SummerSlam in Las Vegas.

Cena has not been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 36 and his cinematic match against The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Since then, he has been very busy in Hollywood and after SummerSlam he will be heading straight back to the movies where he will start filming the spy thriller movie Argylle.
