Raw commentator Adnan Virk has left WWE. The sudden departure was announced by WWE today with a short statement saying, “WWE and Adnan Virk have mutually agreed to part ways. WWE thanks Adnan for his work.”

Virk made his WWE debut on the Raw following WrestleMania 37 last month, replacing Tom Phillips on the commentary table. He was hired by WWE after his name was brought forward by WWE President Nick Khan and in February he underwent an audition for the role as the new voice of Raw. Khan was Virk’s agent before he took up the WWE position.

Unfortunately for the sports broadcaster, he did not resonate with fans and his work was highly criticized. Virk even trended on Twitter a few weeks ago during Raw for all the wrong reasons. He admitted that he made a lot of mistakes but vowed to improve.

“Thanks to @WWE for a wonderful opportunity. The weekly travel along with my other jobs was a grind for me and my family. Am grateful to everyone with the company especially @WWEGraves and @ByronSaxton for being such fantastic teammates,” Virk said in a tweet.

WWE did not announce who will take his place on Raw.
