Molly Holly is first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2021

A very emotional Shane Helms surprised his former sidekick Molly Holly on The Bump by revealing to her that she is the first inductee of the 2021 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.

“It is…” Helms started, as he paused to recollect himself after getting emotional. “It is my esteemed honor and privilege to announce that the first inductee to the WWE 2021 Hall of Fame is you, Mighty Molly!”

Holly, also on the broadcast with Helms on The Bump was taken by surprise. “Oh my gosh! That is awesome! Oh thank you! Thank you so much,” Holly said, wiping tears. “Oh wow this is incredible. Wow.”

The 43-year-old had a short stint with WCW before signing her WWE deal in 2000 where she first made her debut as Lady Ophelia. After she was repackaged as Molly Holly, teaming up with Bob and Crash Holly and later Spike Dudley, Molly became the superhero sidekick of Shane “The Hurricane” Helms as Mighty Molly. She left WWE in 2005 for reasons she did not want to disclose and then started working the indie circuit.

Ever since she departed WWE, Holly, whose real name is Nora Benshoof, has made several appearances on WWE television, including participating in a few Royal Rumble matches. Her most recent appearance was on January 4 at Raw Legends Night.

During her WWE career, Holly won the WWE Women’s title twice and the Hardcore title once.
