Paul Wight to make AEW debut next week on Dynamite

Paul Wight, the man formerly known as The Big Show in WWE, will be making his All Elite Wrestling debut next Wednesday on Dynamite, adding to an already-loaded show which will also have Shaq on it.

Wight, who wrote on Twitter that he’s “incredibly excited,” last appeared on a TNT broadcast in January 1999 where he was thrown out of the nWo following a match against Kevin Nash. Following that, Wight let his WCW contract expire and his run in WCW came to an end on February 8. The next day, he signed a 10-year deal with WWE and made his debut that same week on February 14.

The news of Wight signing with AEW yesterday brought back memories of the WWE vs WCW war in the late 90s. The announcement caught everyone by surprise and WWE were not aware that Wight was dealing with the competition. His WWE contract expired in the beginning of last month and was not renewed after both parties couldn’t agree on the financial side of it.
