NXT’s New Year’s Evil card starts to take shape

The card for the NXT New Year’s Evil themed episode on January 6 started to take shape yesterday.

Pete Dunne and Kyle O’Reilly of The Undisputed Era went one-on-one to determine the new number one contender for the NXT title. O’Reilly came out of the hard-fought match as the winner and will get a rematch against Balor on the episode. Balor and O’Reilly had a fantastic match at Takeover: 31 which ended with both Superstars injured, especially Balor who suffered a broken jaw in two places.

Karrion Kross will also step back in the ring after yesterday he had his first match since August. Kross will take on Damien Priest who last week made fun of him through insults directed at his real-life girlfriend Scarlett.

Plus, the host of New Year’s Evil was also announced and it’s none other than Dexter Lumis. Shotzi Blackheart was the host of NXT Halloween Havoc in October.
